Fall

Candy Corn Treat

A few years ago I came across a Halloween/Fall project, created by a fellow demonstrator Connie Collins, that I just loved. It seemed so simple and easily duplicated. I saved it to a file on my computer and there it sat...for over two years. Last weekend I finally took the time to go through my saved projects searching for the perfect 3-D treat for my co-workers. And there it was...

Candy cornedited

I needed to make a dozen packets and I didn't have a lot of time to make them, so these were perfect! Since the original project was made by Connie several years ago, many of the products used are retired, but with some creativity, these could easily be made with items available in the current catalog.  I tweaked a few things from the original to include the woodgrain stamp and sentiment but overall I stayed true to her design.

Many candy corn

Here is my completed stash.  It was fun to give these away.  Such an easy way to make someone smile.I consider myself incredibly fortunate to work with such great people. I wanted my sentiment to reflect that I truly am grateful for them!  I have had jobs in my life where giving something like would not be an option, but not this one!

Have an awesome day...stop by again soon!

If the Broom Fits...

I've been stamping and crafting for a long time and while I enjoy creating cards and 3-D items for various occasions, I'd have to say that Halloween is probably one of my favorite.  I don't do a lot of decorating around the house or have my front yard covered in Halloween-related lawn ornaments, but crafty things have my full attention.  Over the next couple of days I'll be showing some of the things I've done lately.

Today we'll start with the card.  Several times a year I swap cards with other fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators to share ideas or to show our customers.  This card features several great new products in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  It's hard to for me to pick a favorite new product because this catalog is jam-packed with them, but there's something about black spider web doilies that just make me happy. What's even better is that 24 of them come in a pack!  These doilies are not just for Halloween.  I'll be posting other projects using them in the near future.

A listing of the new products used is listed below. The stamp set is called If the Broom Fits and I can't help but smile every time I use it.

Come back tomorrow to see the candy treats I made for some of my co-workers.  They make such a great gift for anyone!

Thanks for stopping by.

Paper fruit and terra cotta pots

I love when I come across an idea that makes me smile.  Today's project is one of them. Inspired by the talented Melissa Davies, these 3-D projects have been a hit with my stampers.

PumpkinThis adorable paper pumpkin came together in a snap.  I purchased small terra cotta pots from a local craft store for .69 each.  Using mini glue dots at the top and bottom of each strip, I glue the strips on the inside and bottom of the pot. For this particular size pot, it took 15 strips of 1/2" x 4" pieces.

AppleMy next piece of fruit was intended to be an apple, although my husband thinks it resembles a tomato more.  Whatever!  I used 22 strips of paper on this one just to see how it would look without the gaps between paper.  While I don't mind the look of the apple (or tomato) I think I prefer the gaps on the pumpkin!

These projects are a great way to use your scraps of designer series paper that you've been hoarding.  Wouldn't these be great centerpieces for the holidays? Or, place tags on the table?  There are various sized pots available at the store so you could have all sorts of fruit on the table!

The center "stem" is a cookie stick (sold in packs of 25 and 60 in various sizes).  I also got these from the craft store.  They come in white so I rolled them in my Early Espresso ink pad (the new pads make this VERY easy to do).  I had colored sticks in seconds!  I used a hot glue gun on the bottom to secure the stick inside.

So go get out those scraps and get gluing!  These come together quickly and easily.  These can be filled with sugary treats or anything else that will fit within the pot.  Have fun with it!

Have a blessed day!  Thanks for visiting!

Gratitude

It's been quite on the blog but anything but quiet in the stamp room.  Over the past couple of weeks classes, clubs, workshops and team meetings have been on the calendar keeping me and my stamps busy.  It's a most wonderful time of year!

On Saturday I had the pleasure of holding a workshop for Glenda and her friends.  Her request was to showcase the Holiday Frame Embossing folder on page 7 of the holiday catalog.  The majority of samples I have seen using this folder have been Christmas related, but I decided to change things up a bit and celebrate the current season - Fall!

Gratitude
There a lots of fun elements on this card which gave Glenda and her guests the opportunity to use the Big Shot with various accessories - Framelits, Edgelits, Embossing Folder, and a Bigz Die.  Now THAT was fun! But, what I think is the most interesting element is the Early Espresso Core'dinations paper with the embossing folder - awesome!  I love the vintage look it produced (and so did they)!  And of course, how can you go wrong with a touch of Champagne glitter paper!

I have several days worth of posts all lined up so I don't leave you hanging for weeks at a time again.  I even have more "Kelley Creations"!  Yes, my good friend and fellow demonstrator, Kelley Banducci, has graced my mailbox with more fabric goodies.  I'll showcase one of them tomorrow so you don't have to wait too long to see them.  You won't be disappointed.

Thank you for your patience! I look forward to having you back again tomorrow.
