Funny title, isn't it? It's hard to describe today's card, so I call it a Stair Step card because of the graduated steps it has. This card also showcases a new stamp set called Touch of Kindness. It's an adorable, whimsical set that can be found on page 25 of the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini catalog. Not only does it have fun images, but 5 sentiments too. A photo of the complete stamp set can be seen at the bottom of this post.
This is one of several cards we will be making in my stamp class on Tuesday. It looks more complicated than it really is and it's really quite fun to make.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum simply because I wanted the card to fit into the envelope. The post office gets a little ornery when the card is too bulky then usually feels the need to slap me with additional postage because of it. In case you are wondering, this fits a standard A2 envelope.
Below is a rough (and I do mean rough) diagram of the cut and score lines for the card. I know it's not an ideal outline, but it should give you the basic idea. The card base measures 8.5 by 5.5. The red lines are the cut lines and the score lines are in the middle of those cut lines (the score lines do NOT go to the end of the card, rather the score lines stay within the 3" cut lines). Disregard the pencil marks at the top and bottom. Those are there simply to indicate that the measurement is 1.25" in from each side. I know, I know, it's a pretty bad diagram, but feel free to email me with specific questions and I can walk you through it. Depending on the level of interest, I can post additional pictures in a few days.
Thanks for stopping by today. Drop by in a few days so I can show you another class project. It's a fun 3-D project that uses material from your local home improvement store!
