A Beautiful Thing round card

We're gearing up for a busy Super Bowl Sunday.  I love all the excitement that surrounds this event.  Truth is, I don't really watch football but I do enjoy a reason to eat not-so-good-for-you food and to share in the excitement of the "big" game.  Oh, and the commercials...gotta love the commercials.

Round card 2

So, before things get too crazy, here is my card for today.  This was easy to create with my Big Shot and a few stitches on the sewing machine.  I added Tea Party designer paper to the center and one of my favorite quotes from the A Beautiful Thing stamp set.  The finished size of this card is about 4.5".

It's a short post today...lots to do!  Thanks for visiting!

Supplies:

Stamps: A Beautiful Thing

Ink: Basic Black

Paper: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Whisper White, Certain Celery and Tea Party Designer Paper

Accessories: Big Shot, scalloped oval punch, large oval punch, BS Scallop Circle die, BC Clear Circle die, and SU Little Leaves die.  Sewing machine and adhesive pearls (non SU) were also used.

Baroque Motifs Valentine

As of today's card, I have officially completed all of my Valentine's Day cards.  That's pretty good considering I usually scramble to get a card completed and mailed on time.

Baroque valentine

I used images from three different sets to make this card.  I typically try to limit it to one or two but there were specific elements I wanted that couldn't be found in just the one set.  I haven't used Baroque Motifs in awhile, but I love the flourish in this set.  My picture appears to make it look white, but I embossed the flourish with vanilla embossing powder on Kraft card stock.  I forgot how much I enjoy heat embossing. I never get tired of seeing the images come alive after a little heat has been applied!  I also embossed the flourish on Melon Mambo card stock.  Since the card stock is textured, I couldn't get a crisp image, but I'm still happy with the results.

The finished size of this card is 5.25 x 5.25.

I wish all of you a great day.  Thank you for visiting.

Supplies:

Stamps: Baroque Motifs (flourish), A Happy Heart (sentiment) and Always (large heart image)

Ink: Melon Mambo, Versamark

Paper: Kraft, Vanilla, Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo (textured)

Accessories: Vanilla embossing powder, sewing machine

More Pun Fun

Happy Monday Morning and Happy February!

I'm continuing my effort to ink up stamps that haven't been off the shelf in awhile.  I used the Stampin' Up! Pun Fun set last week, but I have never used this particular stamp before.  Since both of my kids are adults now I don't have a tendency to reach for whimsical or child-like images, but I have to admit, this little guy is CUTE!

The other promise I kept was to not make another pink card.  It was tough not to gravitate to my favorite color.  I also wanted to give Valentine's a break too (although I have another one to post later this week).

As you can see, I pulled out my sewing machine again.  We're starting to like each other again.  We're slowly rebuilding our relationship and my hope is within the next few weeks she'll be sewing perfectly straight lines again.  I might even change the thread color!  I really love the look of stitching on cards and scrapbook pages so I intend to have my old girl out for awhile.

Enjoy!

Have a great day.
