Like thousands of other SU! demonstrators, I have been anxiously waiting for the arrival of my Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter preorder to arrive on my doorstep.  After a grueling 15 DAY wait, Big Brown finally delivered my goodies.  I have mounted the stamps, but was more excited to check out the new Stampin ' Up! Decor Elements.  My friend, Amber, (Hi Amber!) came over yesterday to help me put up my first of many Decor Elements.  Once we got the hang of what we were doing, it went up pretty quickly.  Take a look:

I really like how it came out.  I still have a few more to put up and am contemplating adding a few of the decorative elements on this same wall, but I need to plan it out and make certain where I want them first.

I'm anxious to see what else Stampin' Up! has in store for future Decor Elements.  What a quick and easy way to add a decorative touch to your home!  I think these are going to be great addition to the Stampin' Up! product line.

After years of good intentions, I have finally started a scrapbook of my dog, Kayla.  I have collected dozens of embellishments and scrapbook papers.  I don't think it is possible for me to actually use all that I have accumulated, but I definitely have options.  Some of the scrapbook paper I had collected was so old, it was starting to fade!  I finally went through my stash and got rid of those items that really couldn't be used anymore for one reason or another.  In my box of embellishments I also found a 5" wood "K" that at some point I had intended to decorate.  With excess paper at hand, I finally took the time to do it.  

I kept the embellishments simple only because I really like the paper.  I found a picture taken of her recently with her favorite tennis ball.  It was small enough that I could fit the image in the 1 3/8" circle punch and then layered it with the scallop circle punch.

While this isn't something I can put into her scrapbook, I felt a HUGE sense of accomplishment by simply using some of those items I have collected for so long.  It may take months for me to get her book complete, but I'm happy that it has been started.

I wouldn't be a very good Mom if I didn't show her off a little bit, right? Indulge me for a moment and take a look at my faithful companion.

Hello Everyone!  It's so good to be back blogging again!  I have spent the past 3 weeks without my camera and was ecstatic when UPS dropped it off on Friday.  Unfortunately, while it is "functional" I have error messages appearing on the screen that will need to be addressed.  In the meantime, I wanted to at least get a few posts on the blog just to show that I AM still around.

This card was inspired by a notebook I recently came across at Staples.  The card stock colors are Not Quite Navy, Old Olive and Close to Cocoa.  This is a really close replica of what the notebook really looked like. The notebook even used a baroque design.  It was really pretty - almost made me wish I was back in school again.

There are two stamp sets used on this card: Baroque background and Lovely Labels.  In addition to the card stock mentioned above, I also used Close to Cocoa designer series paper (the polka dots).  Had it not been for this notebook, I'm not sure I would have instinctively put these colors together.  I really like this combination. 

Fortunately, both of the stamp sets used are not retiring sets and will be in the new Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter catalog scheduled to be released Aug 11th.  That's a good thing because this was my first time using the Baroque background and maybe the second or third time using Lovely Labels.  I have another 6 months to showcase what great stamps they are.

I have a lot of catching up to do both on my blog and with emails.  Thanks for your patience and for hangin' in there with me!
